My friend says that "pink eye" is cause when an infected person passes gas. I know that it is contagious but come on now a fart, that sounds crazy. Is this true?

you can get pinkeye by touching an infected person or something an infected person has touched, such as a used tissue. In the summertime, pinkeye can spread when kids swim in contaminated water or share contaminated towels. It also can be spread through coughing and sneezing. So my question would be how close are you to the actual gas that is being passed?
