Chest Pain, 21 y/o?!

Question:

Chest Pain, 21 y/o?

I am 21 and I have been experiencing minor chest pain on and off for a year now. Sometimes it feels like a fluttering, or palpitation, and other time it is a sharp aching in the center of my chest It is usually only a momentary occurance. I have been to the hopsital and had an EKG and chest rays, they say nothing is wrong with me, that I seemed perfectly healthy. They told me it was just anxiety, and they get it all the time. I still worry about it though. I am overweight, but I am in the process of losing (22 pounds gone so far) and I excercise. I do smoke, but I am also trying to quit that. I don't want to go back to the docotor, because it cost me $700 to find out nothing was wrong with me. I don't know what to do about it. Does anyone else have any similar experiences?

Answers:

Nine times out of ten, the chest pain is not of heart. Still when you complain to the doctors, they need to find out if you really have heart problem. It may be simply that when you smoke, it constricts you food pipe and/or you wind pipe and you get pain. Try stopping for a few days and then see if you still get it. some times your stomach juices come up and they cause cramps of food pipe which can cause pain in the chest.
