I have been having strange symptoms over the last few days and could use some ad!

Question:

I have been having strange symptoms over the last few days and could use some advice as to if I need a doctor?

Okay so as of 3 days ago I started getting really bad cold chills even when it was 94 degrees and whatnot and I was also very tired. Then yesterday I developed a pain roughly in the area of my diaphram and a really bad fever (103.1) but my boyfriend gave me some Tylenol and some Oscillococcinum and put a cold towel on me. Within an hour I was down to 99.1 ... Then I woke up at 4 am in the morning feeling horrid and took my temp. I was back up to 103. Then I got up this morning and I was down to 99.3. I still have the headache and the pain in my diaphram but it is only when I bend or twist for the most part. It seems focused on the left side but extends over the right a little. Any advice? I don't have insurance that will cover much of anything so I wondered how long I should wait to go see a doctor and if anyone has any real idea of what it sounds like.

Answers:

by the symptoms that you are describing you have a bacterial infection. It has been 3 days and your body hasn't been able to fight the infection, that means that you need an antibiotic. It is not good to have high fever for a long time because it can cause nerve and brain damage. Since you dont have insurance, i would go to the emergency room. It costs less for a visit and they might be able to give you samples of amoxicillin or something. If I was you, I would go to the doctor ASAP. If you choose to wait it out.... and your temperature doesnt decrease in 3-4 days, you should not wait any longer. A week should be more than enough for your body to fight off an infection. So if it not happenning you are in dire need of antibiotics.
