does anyone else suffer from a 'cracking jaw'. i ve had mine for years now and get headaches every now and then from it, been to the docs and they said a lot of people have it?

It sounds like you have TMJ. It can be very painful. There are treatment options out there. You need to see your dentist first and then he can refer you to an Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon for a consultation. You may not necessarily have to have surgery.
