Does Carrot really improves our eyesight??!

Question:

Does Carrot really improves our eyesight??

I heard that Vitamin A gives us better eyesight and carrots have so high vitamin A. If i were to eat 30 pieces of baby carrots each day will my eyesight get better and i don't have to wear glasses?

Answers:

No, vitamin A will not change your need for glasses. The vision process relies on chemicals in the eye that are derived from Vitamin A but this process has nothing to do with whether you need glasses or not. The need for glasses is due to a mismatch in size between the various components of your eyes and is largely due to genetics, much like the shape of your ears or the colour of your hair is genetic.

Carrots, like all brightly coloured fruits and vegetables are a good source of vitamins, but many others are better sources of Vitamin A. Unless you are on a starvation diet, it is very unlikely that you are not already getting enough vit A in your diet. Eating too many carrots can make your skin turn orange, this is not harmful but looks weird.
