I am trying to get medicaid, what should I do?!

Question:

I am trying to get medicaid, what should I do?

I am a college student. The medicaid was taken away from my mother my 1st year of college for unaccurately explained reasons. Right now I need medicaid/health insurance for check ups and I do not know where to start my search. I am no independent, the college medicaid does not provide enough help and these doctor appointemnts are expensive. What do you suggest?

Answers:

go to the Income Support Division where you live (Food Stamps/Welfare office) and ask them for an application for medicaid..they'll either set you up for an appointment within a couple of days, or have you speak with someone right away..you'll need your: birth certificate, 2. proof of income(last 4 weeks) 3. proof of residency, 4. I.D, 5.Social security card...i know how this stuff goes...been there :)....good luck
