Answers:

It preety much depends on what type of monitor you have. If your PC's monitor is of the CRT type(that is the thicker one, you know, preety much like grandma's tv set) than it might be preety dammaging if you continue this practice. The reason is this: CRT monitors tend to have a low refresh rate(every monitor has one, a refresh rate is represented by how many images apear per second on your screen-it is measured in hertzs) and this problem affects primarily your eyes, and if encountered often enough, it might finally affect your optical projection area on your cortex(not to worry, cases are exceptionally rare). In the opposite side are the LCD/TFT(Liquid cristal display/Thin Film Technology) monitors(the slim ones). Because the different technology used on this type of monitors(micro crystals rotating due to an electrical current instead of an electron bombardment), the refresh rate does not affect your eyes simply because the screen doesn't flicker. But still, even so, there could appear several posture problems. So you need to check out your monitor, and if you have a CRT type and you do not wish to switch to TFT, buy a protection screen(it's very cheap) that reduces the flicker and thus reducing the eye problems
