Sleeping problems?!

Question:

Sleeping problems?

For the past week or so i have not been able to go to sleep untill it is around 2am. The next day i wake up at 2pm. I miss like half of the day. i tried to go to bed early but i still could not sleep till 2am. Do i have a sleeping disorder? Is this normal?

Answers:

If you really want to establish a new sleep schedule, you may have to make some radical changes. Here's what worked for me (I get up at 5 AM):
1. NO CAFFEINE after 10 AM. If you are highly sensitive to caffeine (I am), you may need to give up caffeine while you adjust to a new sleep schedule. [Beware withdrawal headaches!]
2. Place your alarm clock as far away as possible, so you have to get out of bed to turn it off. Once you're out of bed, keep moving - get a bath, work out, go for a walk.
3. Get up at the same time time every day. If you're dragging by mid-day, take a 30-45 minute power nap.
4. No movies, videos, video games, computing, surfing the Internet within 2 hours of when you want to go to sleep.
