Why one always feels cold, even during hottest days?!

Question:

Why one always feels cold, even during hottest days?

Hello all.

My mother-in-law is being treated for hypothyroidism. She's 5'6" and weights only 127lbs. She eats normally, but nothing "cathces on".

Even though she drinks lots of coffee, eats salty foods, etc, her blood pressure is always pretty low (around 90/60). Even on the hottest summer days she is feeling cold and she tends to step out to be exposed to the sun for 10-15 minutes to start feeling warm again. If I did that, I think I'd faint and drop down, as that happens on extremely hot days.

Also, when she goes to the beach, she is comfortable with almost falling asleep on the sun (she could be lying there for hours), while others tend to run to the shade after 10-15 mins of sunbathing. Does anyone have idea what could be her problem, why is she always cold?

Thanks.

Answers:

hypothyroidism Causes people to always feel cold. She should see her medical doctor and possibly get an adjustment or different medication. Dehydration can also cause some of the cold that she's feeling. Have her drink purified water with mineral water mixed 50/50.
