im very surprised this question has not generated more interest i read in a tabloid recently and have seen it on tv as a report that a radio hub used indoors emits 3 times as much radiation as a telephone mast... should this not be of concern to parents and people whose jobs involve sitting still for years on cmputers in offices all over the world or is it too boring a subject for allegedly 19 million ya users to bother answering

Answers:

There are two low level risks. If you are using an older style monitor, the TV type with a tube, you can get x-ray exposure if you stick your face against it for several hours. This problem does not exist with an LCD screen. Another more likely problem is repetitive stress syndrome. Long hours of typing on the keyboard can lead to muscle fatigue and strain. But, you aren't going to plaster your face to the screen and simply taking breaks about once an hour will reduce the possibility of the latter problem.

Regarding your concern about RF (Radio Frequency) exposure, the power output from wireless routers is miniscule. Yes, if you wore it strapped to your head for several months it may do some damage. Keep in mind that these devices only have an effective transmission range of a few hundred feet while wireless phones often have up to a 1000' range and cell phones work with towers that are miles away. Even the popular walkie-talkies have a greater power output. Other than physical strain, you really don't have to worry about being zapped by your computer.
