Funny how you have to be rich in order to live?!

Question:

Funny how you have to be rich in order to live?

Broke with AIDS, low survival rate; Magic Johnson with AIDS, live a normal life.

Need neurological or heart surgery? It can be done, but for a hefty price.

Also notice how all of the cures/antedotes that work for all diseases are very expensive and/or unheard of unless one has much money.

Life should not have a price, but according to money...it does.

What's your take on the situation?

It is blunt, but not blatant...just true.

How many ways can I say that I agree with your philosophy. As a retired Correctional Officer I became very familiar with the saying the offenders had of "money talks and criminals walk". Almost every day we see the proof of this. Had any real person committed the offenses that Paris Hilton did they would have been taken straight to jail for a lot longer than her little stay. O. J. Simpson walked on a murder charge, money paid for very smart lawyers. Senator Kennedy will always be remembered for Chapikidwick but still gets re-elected. It is not just love of money but love of money coupled with fame. I place a good deal of the problem on the media, which has put forth the rich and famous as being like gods. The media portrays their lifestyles as glamorous, their images as perfect and the model for all to attain. How many girls, in particular, have succumed to severe anorexia because the meida portrays skinny, almost skeletal looking as the perfect body that everyone wants to be like. Athletes have become obnoxiously rich not for love of the game but love of fame and money brought about by the media. My solution or try at making all more equal would be to not buy the products that these people are selling . Whenever we purchase products that are promoted by media hype we put money into someone's pocket and make the premise of the sale more real. We are telling the promoters that we want more of the same. If we do not purchase their products we not only get into their pocketbooks but we make them change their promotions to sell the product. When we vote we should not re-elect the good old boys who treat the rich and famous differently. By voting for those officials (judges, politicians, and law enforcement officers) who enforce the law equally to all people we can start to take away the privileges some celebrities believe they have ( Iam too rich to go to prison, I am too pretty to go to jail).
