Bone Spurs?!

Question:

Bone Spurs?

I have a cluster of bone spurs on myhip joint and a small cluster on the base of my spine.... i have inflamed it and my hip is giving my alot of problems... They put me on steroids and some muscle relaxers.. Doc said the pain & numbness in my hip is because the spurs have inflammed the nerves in my hip ..... Question... isn't there a med that you can take that can possibly dissolve the spurs.....if so does anyone know what it is called and has anyone had any sucess w/ it..

Answers:

Sorry to say there aren't any meds that will dissolve spurs of bone. And..if there were, they would be expected to dissolve other "good" bone too.

So, that leaves you with meds to decrease the inflammation from the irritation and pressure the spurs cause, like ibuprofen or injected steroids.

Lastly - surgery can be considered to remove the spurs.

Good luck!
