Kinesiology - Is it a quack???!

Question:

Kinesiology - Is it a quack???

I went to a kinesiologist/chiropractor today. My head was hurting from my nose down my neck and spine and making me nauseated. This happens to me about twice or more a month. He said my neck was misaligned and cracked it along with my back. It felt great. Then, I asked him about my irregular menstrual cycles and hormones out of whack (even though hormone testing and thyroid testing have been normal) as well as I asked him about my thinning hair. His assistant came in and waved her hand over me and said I had a yeast infection in my body. He had me hold medications/vitamins I had been taking at home for my health and hair, and would push down on my hand as I tried to resist his push, and if he was able to push my hand down easily, he said my body did not need those substances, but if I was able to resist, he said my body liked those substances. He sold me Cataplex G, Cataplex B, Aloe Isolate, Lecithen, and he told me to continue to take Vitamin E (3 per day), Biotin (4 per day),

& Kelp ( 2 per day). Is this too much stuff to be taking? He's not an MD, so is this legit? There are so many in our area that go to this guy. He stays busy, but I'm really the questioning type. He supposedly made a lady that had been infertile for years take the right substances to be able to conceive a child. Freaky. Anyway, I was just curious about all this kiniseology stuff. He knew more about my health than I thought he would without my telling him. Weird...kinda freaky.

Answers:

Well, see, kinesiology - "the study of the principles of mechanics and anatomy in relation to human movement" - is a science. What that guy was doing was "applied kinesiology", which is a fancy term for quackery.
I've dealt with these jokers myself and, as long as you don't use them as a substitute for real treatment from a real doctor, they won't hurt anything but your bank account.
Though bringing in the Jedi was a nice touch. :D
