Answers:

Lifting weights creates micro-tears in the muscle fibers, when they heal, the new tissue is bigger and stronger and this keeps going on and on to a certain degree. That is why you shouldn't lift weights every day you need to take days off for the muscle to heal or you will grow too fatigued
