Need better prescription drug coverage...i am a senior and have many prescriptions.. please help a.s.a.p.?

While Medicare doesn't cover the biggest part of your insurance you can go on line and get a discount prescription card, it's free and it will save some money. You should be able use in conjunction with your medicare check your local pharmacy to see if it will. You can do a search on line for the discount prescription card and choose one that suits you best. REMEMBER this is just a DISCOUNT CARD.

The other choice you have depending on your income is a prescription spin-down that is provided by Public Aid (State Agency) You will have a lot of forms to fill and provide your income but it may also help relieve the cost of your medication. Call your local State Aid Agency and ask what the qualifications are.

Some pharmaceutical companies actually pay for the medication that your taking. You will once again have to show proof of income, but if it is a medication your on regularly they may be able to help. Your doctor can point you in the right direction or your can once again do a search on line for it.

Ask your doctor for samples explain too him/her that the medication is costly even with medicare or your current insurance he/she may be able to provide a few months worth, free of charge.
