Can anyone tell me what is going on with my ear/jaw?!

Question:

Can anyone tell me what is going on with my ear/jaw?

Okay, so yesterday morning, I notice it's starting to hurt whenever I yawn, and whenever I wiggle my jaw on the left side, I try to ignore it. I woke up this morning, and my god, the pain is so bad, and I realise that I think it's my ear, and not my jaw. It hurts like hell whenever I speak, or even move my head, and hurts especially bad when I touch the little bump (tragus) on the outside of my ear. It's to the point now where I can't sleep or do much.

I have had this before about year ago, and it went away after about 5 days. I really do not want to see a doctor unless it's really an emergency. It sounds like Swimmer's Ear, but I'm not too sure. I have work tomorrow, and I don't know if I should call in sick or not, I am almost crying the pain is so bad, any suggestions to what I should do or what is going on?

Answers:

It's an ear infection, you should go see a doctor, especially since you've had it before without getting it checked. Analgesic ear drops and putting a warm cloth on your ear will ease the pain. You can get the ear drops at any drug store.
