Help please?

I have just been told that i need to wear glasses when i read, watch tv anything like that, and when i told my friend, she said that she used to have to do that and then her eyesight gradually got worse, at the time she was young, i am 16, will the same thing happen to me?

Btw i dont mind having to wear them, but i dont want my eyesight to get any worse!

My cousin had the same problem too (she was about your age when she started wearing glasses), and it was because her doctor told her NOT to wear them all the time. Though, she wore them all day long, and now she has to wear glasses all the time. This wouldn't have happenned if she wore them for several hours a day only.

Chances are that this will not happen to you, if you listen to what the doctor tells you. Do not wear them more than he advices you to. Even if you think the problem will go away if you wear them more, you'll probably make it worse. But if you follow the instructions, there is absolutely nothing to worry about.
