I was diagnosed with TMJ disorder years ago, went to a doctor who referred me to a dentist. We had an HMO at the time, and I really had no choice in who I went to. The pain I'm having now is far different than any I've had before, it gets worse as the day goes on and by the evening I can't eat because of the pain and my bite won't close all the way, so I can't chew. I don't think this is TMJ pain that's why I don't know who to go to...
Answers:
TMJ can be addressed thru a dentist....who can then refer you to a specialist if needed.
