Undiagnosed pain?!

Question:

Undiagnosed pain?

been having dull dispersed muscle pain in my back. It spread from my neck and shoulder down to my hip and buttocks. It also makes my arm and leg feel very uncomfortable.

The pain is mainly on the left side of the body but i do get it also on the right side

following is a list of test I've run:

MRI of brain, neck, spine, and lower back and they all came back fine.

Blood tests including thyroid hormones and that came back fine also.

Other symptoms include:
-hand tremor
- muscle weakness
-anxiety
-minor headache with dull pain behind the eye on the same side of the pain
-shallow sleep.

Doctors seem that the pain is psychosomatic, Here are some of the medications i tried with no success
painkillers: advil
deanxit (anti stress drug)
muscle relaxants ( norgesic, norflex, and legaflex)
antiinflamatory (xefo)
xanax (0.25 mg 3 times a day)
SSRI ( cymbalta)

am 24, regular swimmer, i love life, been to many doctors who all think am fine

Answers:

hmmm

This is nerve damage somewhere. I work with muscular dystrophy patients who have symptoms similar. Massage, pressure point work on trigger points and excercise in a heated pool really helps them.

BUT!!!

A few years ago I had exactly the same synptoms. I am in great shape, work out a lot but YEARS ago I had injuries incurred in a car wreck that needed lots of knee surguries.

As my symptoms progressed doctors ran every test imaginable. They found I had slight carpal in my left arm. Over time I lost the use of my left arm. Doctors thought I was exaggerating. The problem got so bad I could barely move.

My orthopedic surgeon had xrays, scans everything done possible to find out what was wrong. He discovered what was described as a slight rotator cuff tear.

A simple scope was done to look inside my left shoulder. He found a broken bone, fractured bone, and a two inch tear in my rotator plus three bone spurs probably years old from the car wreck. None of this showed in xrays etc. It ended up being 3 hours of surgury.

It took nearly a year of rehab. But, now I am nearly 90% normal in range of motion/strength etc, and the incredible nerve problems are gone.

Something is causing your nerve trigger points to go off resulting in these symptoms. The question is where and why?

I would start with a good massage therapist who knows how to find sore flaring nerve endings and "quiet" them down with pressure massage combined with motion excercise in a heated pool and see if that helps.

That should fix it UNLESS there is severe skeletal damage or muscle tears. I had both.
