Can you get swollen lymph nodes from a cut????

i got a small cut last week on the upper side of my neck and now a lymph node right near it is kind of swollen and red ..... is this because of the cut????? thank youuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!

When you receive a cut the broken skin allows bacteria into your body. Your immune systems defense is to send your T-Cells or helper cells to attack and get rid of the germs. This is what is happening in your lymph node. If it does not resolve within a couple of days I would seek help from a physician as you may have a more serious infection and need antibiotics, otherwise this is your wonderful body at work.
