Will inhaling helium ever affect you in a negative way?!
Question:
Will inhaling helium ever affect you in a negative way?
I am always afraid to try it because I am afraid that because I have asthma, I will have a bad reaction to it, or something else bad will happen. Are my fears justified or are they just silly?
Answers:
Inhaling helium will do nothing bad to you.
Light headedness is only caused because you're not inhaling oxygen at the time, and will soon wear off.
You get a higher pitched voice, because your vocal chords are not used to having so much helium on them, and will tighten up. This will always return to normal when all of the helium has passed.
Inhaling helium will NOT kill your braincells. You are constantly inhaling helium in small amounts, as it is in the air which you breathe. You just get more of it if you take it from a balloon..
