i know a friend who eats nail polish. appearntly she loves its smell. will it affect her health in a real bad way? and how? i tried getting her out of this ugly habit but she's not really worried. what should i do?

Wow, I can't see how it can be good for you. Smelling it alone has a negative effect, kills brain cells. I bet if you looked at the lable it will say NOT TO CONSUME! I think your friend needs some help.
