Answers:

1. It can affect your social life in many ways. Being someone that has ADD, I would know. It has many different affects on people. For example, I tend to over explain everything and act really apologetic about the smallest things. It annoys my friends and makes them all mad. It could cause people to get very annoyed and confront you about it, which I take very seriously when my friends do.
2. I went to the hospital and they ran checks for me. Just go to WebMD.com and look up the type of doctor it is, and then find one in your phone book because I forgot the name for that kind of specialist. After they found out I had ADD, my neurologist took over it from there. He writes me all of my prescriptions for my medication that I take.
3. There really is no process or steps to take. Pretty much the doctors will just put you on medication. I take Concerta for example. You may feel a little bit more moody on your medication, but in the long run it really helps, because when I started taking it I was at 54MG and now I am down to 36MG. Just find out what your ADD causes you to do that annoys other people, and try to stop yourself from doing it, or if you realize you are doing it just stop. Good luck and I hope that you don't have ADD because it sucks haha.
