Is getting a digital hearing aid more complicated than getting glasses?!

Question:

Is getting a digital hearing aid more complicated than getting glasses?

Answers:

Define "complicated". Both require skilled professionals with specific experience in their area, and lots of REALLY expensive equipment to get the "prescription" right. Both can take several appointments to accomplish optimal results. In general, glasses only take 2 appointments, one with the optomotrist to get the prescription, the other with the glasses fitting person to get them right on your nose and ears. Digital hearing aids are a little more complicated in that you get an initial set of programs for your hearing aids based on audiogram results, but if it is your first pair of hearing aids, it may require 3 or 4 trips back to the hearing aid dispenser to finetune those program to get them to work for the situations that you live in every day. But in the grand scheme of things, it is not an order of magnitude more complicated, just slightly more complicated.
