Any tips for getting to sleep?!

Question:

Any tips for getting to sleep?

During the summer when my shedual is rampant, I often have difficulty getting to sleep. During school, my usual method was to drink a chamomile tea and watch an episode of my favorite TV show, but that doesn't seem to be working so well anymore.
I know one of you is bound to suggest it but I really can't stand drinking warm milk. I'm an audiophile and would love to listen to calming music but that would A) require my computer to be on all night looping Tropical Rainforest or B) require me to wear headphones to bed, which is most uncomfortable. I also had a phase where I took sleeping pills, but my mother grew concerned and took them away (good idea) so that's not an option either.
So, do any of you have other suggestions that may help me get to sleep quickly, whenever I need to?

Watching TV (regardless of whether I was eating or not) might be OK, except.. I don't have a TV in my room, and I would prefer to fall asleep in my room. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Answers:

Melatonin. Buy it a any supplement place or even walmart. It is the natural hormone that your body makes that puts people to sleep. I take about 12-15 mg at a time with no problems. Most people only use 3mg, but it is safe at higher dosages. It does make you dream though. It is non addictive and is not a narcotic. It is simply a hormone.

There is another supplement called valerian root. I have never used it, but other people swear by it.
