The hazards of lip piercings?!
The hazards of lip piercings?
Are there health hazards involved with a lip ring-like dental or gum risks?
Speaking as a certified Body Piercer in the state of Florida, the answer is YES!
I find that CBRs (captive bead rings) or CIRs (Circular Barbells-the horseshoe shaped ones) are alot more comfortable than flat back labret studs.
Haveing premature gum erosion is definately a risk you will take by having a lip piercing.
If you get a labret piercing- as soon as it heals put in a non-metal piece like acrylic
If you want the actual lip piercing- try a "vertical labret" also called a "tunnel".
Keep in mind that with ANY oral piercing you can chip teeth, receed gumlines, or bring on heart and health issues...
and YOU WILL HAVE SCARRING, TOO... There is no way around it.
ONLY GET PIERCED BY A CERTIFIED PIERCER

NEVER PUT RUBBING ALCHOHOL OR PEROXIDE ON OR INTO ANY PIERCING!!!!!!!
Use a sterile saline solution that you can find in the eye care section of your local pharmacy.
