What do you do when someone is choking?!
Question:
What do you do when someone is choking?
Answers:
If they're coughing, and air is traveling through their esophagus, you do nothing. Get them a glass of water, and just let them cough it out on their own. Do not pat their back or raise their arms.
If they are not breathing, and their airway is completely blocked, you need to do the Heimlich. Firmly apply pressure on the bottom of the diaphragm.
Also, you can look in their mouth to see if you can see the object that is blocking their airway.
