Is it normal for me to feel really sick and nautious after being at an amusement!

Question:

Is it normal for me to feel really sick and nautious after being at an amusement park the day before?

I was ridiing all the roller coasters and spinning rides! Now everytime I go to stand up I feel dizzy and my stomach is killer.

Answers:

Motion sickness is a very common disturbance of the inner ear that is caused by repeated motion. Due to their repetitive motions, amusement park rides are a notorious cause of motion sickness.

The symptoms of motion sickness include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, sweating and a general feeling of discomfort and not feeling well. The symptoms usually stop when the motion that causes it ceases, but this is not always true. There are people who suffer symptoms for a few days after the onset of symptoms (called the Mal de Debarquement Syndrome).

Over the counter treatments for motion sickness include Dramamine; prescription treatments include the scopalamine skin patch Transderm Scop. However, these medicines generally are most effective when administered well before the motion activity takes place

If you find that your motion sickness symptoms do not go away, or if they get worse, you should see a physician with special skill in diseases of the ear, balance (equilibrium), and the nervous system.
