Facts are overwhelming, but you'd have to be willing to look at this question objectively in order to answer it honestly. Question is, are you willing to do the research or just fire from the hip?

Answers:

The AMA is the American Medical Association. This is made up of private treating physicians, and it is in their best interest to treat to cure. I think the group you may be wondering about is the FDA, the federal agency who give approval for which pharmaceutical drugs can be released on the market, and while there is suspicion about this group, again it is in their best interest to approve drugs that cure. Now when it comes to money interests the ones to watch are more the ones who are on the exeuctive committee to approve federal funding for drug research. They withhold monies from programs such as stem cell research in the name of morality, but what it really boils down to is that if stem cell research delivers on what scientists promise it will, then for many diseases that currently cannot be cured, new organs using the persons on dna could be grown on demand. To extend this out, old age is not natural. Old age is simply that our bodies cells stop regenerating and renewing, it is in fact a disease, not natural. If organs that began shutting down due to their inability to naturally regenerate themselves could be grown on demand and new healthy livers, hearts, etc. replaced as needed our life expectancy would extend by.... indefinitely. This is a problem for insurance companies, as they would be footing the bill for these replacements. They have a powerful lobby, and the federal government would have to pay people medicare, medicaid, social security for how long? Um... here's the source of the problem, not the AMA.
