Has anyone tried a smoking cessation drug named chantrix?!

Question:

Has anyone tried a smoking cessation drug named chantrix?

I have tried the patches, willpower, the works and am attending a smoking clinic. They have suggested this and just wanted to know your experiences? side affects ect? and of course WAS IT SUCCESSFUL??

Answers:

First thing is, do you want to quit. If you don't want to quit nothing is going to be effective.

If you want to quit it is still very hard to quit for sure but at least possible.

Chantrix is a good medication which is called a partial nicotine agonist. In laymans terms is works on the nicotine part of the brain to keep the cravings down but also blocks cigarettes (or other nicotine) from giving its normal reward so if you smoke while on it you won't get the usual nicotine effects.

Queasiness and headaches are the most common side effects although the full list is longer.

I don't smoke myself but work as a pharmacist and have seen a number of people try it and of those a few thought it was the best thing they have ever tried, and a few quit because they didn't like it.

Different people, different expectations. Definitely not 100% but sure better than trying cold turkey.
