I have LOTS of small pimples on the side of my head. They are red and very bumpy.?

I used Differin on my face about 6 months ago to get rid of pimples/acne on my face and I put the creame on the small pimples too but they never went away. What could I do to remove these very small and they look like they are engraved in my skin pimples?
