Answers:

The pill is:

Drug Name
Amitriptyline HCl
Strength(s)
25 MG
Imprint(s)
M 51

There are many medical dictionary(s) that will tell you what pills are and what they are for, what they look like etc.

Normally this drug is used for an antidepressant. It is part of the class of medications called tricyclic antidepressants. May also be used for bulimia, chronic pain sometimes, or to prevent migraine headaches. Hopefully this helps. If you need anymore help drop me an email.

If there is any doubt in your mind, he wasn't' on this medication etc, you can always go to the pharmacy or go to (or call) his nurse to get identification of the medicines. At doc offices they always have pill identification dictionaries.
