S Treating cryoburn.?
How do you treat cryoburn? Where your skin has become irritated (and surprisingly painful) from being exposed to cold for an excess amount of time. I was given cortizone shots in my feet and the doctor put a cold spray on the spot to numb the area and now i've got a rash and blisters. Any suggestions?

Answers:

The treatment of cryoburn is no different than the treatment of burns caused by heat. (And by the way, sorry to hear that this happened.)
Since it was injured in a sterile process, you don't need to worry about antibiotics.
Keep the area clean and dry. I'm guessing that the area(s) burned are small. You can go ahead and wash with regular soap when you bathe, then gently rinse. Allow to air-dry. Cover it with a non-adhesive (Telfa) pad. Do this daily to allow it to heal with the least scarring.
