Why does the air I exhale out of my nose when I'm sick feel so warm?!

Question:

Why does the air I exhale out of my nose when I'm sick feel so warm?

I've recently gotten ANOTHER head cold and I am SO congested, and the air I'm breathing out of my nose feels really warm. It really annoys me!! LOL Why does it feel so warm compared to how it feels when I'm not congested?

Answers:

Two things really. When you are congested, the air breathed out is forced out through a smaller area that is sensitive due to the inflammation.
Also, you will have a slightly higher core temperature than normal as your body is fighting an
infection.
