What skill does this show?!

Question:

What skill does this show?

My goal is to go to Med. school. I finished my freshman year in college with 100 hours of volunteer work. My duty was to direct cars where to go in a parking lot in Los Angeles. After the car paid, I was supposed to direct them where to park, since space was limited.

Does this show leadership skills or what kind of skills does this show? Is this good volunteering?

Answers:

I went to med school. It doesnt matter what you do, it all depends on how you twist the situation. If you will write in your personal statement that you were the best car director and people thanked you for it so many times and yada yada yada then yes it shows leadership skills. If you just tell them about what you did then no, it seems like you were wasting your time actually. In fact you should be getting paid for a job like that. My advice to you if you want to get into med school, dont volunteer it doesnt pay in the end. Get a job that actually will give you some cash to party with. Try getting a job in a hospital. But to tell you the truth in the end the only thing that matters is your MCAT score. Seriously!! Get someones KAPLAN books and start reading them already. I know it will still be a while before you apply to schools and take your MCAT, but it is not too soon to start studying. Other than MCATs grades are teh second most important factor for Med schools. Everything else is irrelevant.
