Question:
I have had chronic spinal problems for past 3 years-3 operations and am potentially about to face spinal fusio
does it work? How bad is the post-op pain? Thanks
Answers:
I work in a hospital and I've seen the procedure done may times on patients. I can tell you that it does vary from person to person. The procedure I've seen most is the 360 degree fusion. The doctors make incisions in your back and abdomen. Recover is painful and can be slow. There are pain medicines that they will give you but still expect to have some pain. The degree of the pain depends on your pain tolerance. Most patients are very satisfied with their decision to go through with it and say that the pain isn't any worse than what they were experiencing pre-op.
I'll advise you to look at all your options and do some research on the surgery. Talk to some of the patients who have had it done and see how it's changed them.
