Wedding doubts following up and down relationship and chronic health problems?!

Question:

Wedding doubts following up and down relationship and chronic health problems?

My fiance and I are due to wed in Sept but we seem to do nothing but argue and patch it up until the next time...We have been under the cloud of my serious spinal problems for the last 3 years: I have had 3 operations, am in constant pain and am about to face 4th op. This situation has turned my life and his upside down: life focuses around hospitals. My fiance has been a star with the occasional and completely understandable outburst of doubt and frustration that accompanies this condition.Sex has obviously been frequently impossible and we are currently facing his inability to see me as a lover and more as a fragile invalid. Is this normal? He says he is worried that he can find other women attractive but beleives that it is all a consequence of this wretched problem that blights our life. He asked to me marry him in Dec 2006- 2.5 years into the problem but is having doubts one day yes and all ok the next day. Cortisone and pain have left me much less attractive and feeling horrid.

Answers:

Im sorry you're having spinal problems. Im only 20 years old, but I've been married two years and have an 8 month son. My husband is deployed to Iraq right now for a 15 month tour, and he just reenlisted 4 more years. The point in telling you this is that we also have had our hardships and arguements. But just ask yourself "could you live without each other?" No relationship is easy, you just need to know whether you both want to work on it on a constant basis. My mom gave me some good advise before I got married, to never go to bed angry. And it has worked so far, if you solve your issues before you sleep at night you wont be carrying the problems any further. As for your sex life, you can still have an intimate relationship. I wont get into details, but until you can have sex missionary, oral sex is still there. Its more than ive got now! :) I hope everything works out for you.
