Where is your tonsil? And do it hurt when you get them taking out.?!

Question:

Where is your tonsil? And do it hurt when you get them taking out.?

Answers:

Your tonsils are in the very back of your throat, right under the uvula (the little hanging thing in your throat). I've haven't had mine taken out but I'm quiet sure the Dr who takes them out will make sure you are asleep and won't feel a thing. When your done recovering you might have a little discomfort and I'm sure your Dr will prescribe a pain medication to help you with that discomfort.

The little thing hanging in the back of your throat is called a Uvula and it is not your tonsils. If you take a mirror and a flashlight and stick your tongue out and make the "AHHH" sound, like they tell you to do at the dr. You will see two lumps on either side of your tongue (in the very back) those are your tonsils.
