Why don't I get bloody noses?!

Question:

Why don't I get bloody noses?

My girlfriend, uncle, and other people i know get bloody noses from time to time, but i've never had one in my entire life. why is this?

Answers:

Because the major blood vessels running through your nose are properly embedded in flesh that "cushions" them from the outside world.

For people who get frequent nosebleeds (like me) the veins are closer to the surface of the mucous membranes. And when these get excessively dry, they crack and cause bleeding. A good preventative is to put thick gobs of vaseline (or generic petroleum jelly) up your nose with a Qtip. It will prevent the drying, therefore preventing the cracking, therefore preventing the nosebleeds.
