Your reaction to "fat" people?

A friend of a friend's said:
"Yeah, I don't care if I'm shallow it's their fault for engorging themselves with cheeseburgers. I don't care if somebody is naturally fat or has a slow metabolism but the people who are fat because of their actions all need to die and stop (complaining) about their weight."

Does anyone but me think that is a bit insensitive? Way out of line? Obnoxious? I told my friend, who may have a few friends and relatives that might qualify for "fat", that her friend wouldn't have the same attitude if she were overweight. My friend replied that it was "sort of true," and while I'm appalled, I'm also curious as to what others think. If someone is overweight, do you automatically think they gorge themselves?

Well, I gained a lot of weight with my pregnancy and have not managed to get rid of it all yet. Yeah, maybe I shouldn't have eaten so much during the pregnancy, but some people do that when they are stressed out. In my case, my boyfriend abandoned me after getting me pregnant and giving me a non-curable STD. Even when I do lose this weight, my stomach will sag more than it used to, so she can go f*ck herself if she thinks I should just die because of what I've been through! If anyone deserves to die, it's ignorant people like her. I wouldn't be friends with someone who's feelings for others are conditional on how they LOOK! Looks don't last, and hers won't either. You should post a picture of her on here when she loses hers (if she even has them now!) so we can all laugh at her and tell her she should just die.
