Should I start drinking milk?

I'm 15 years old, and I know that teenagers are suppose to drink a lot of milk for calcium, but I think I might be lactose intolerant. For awhile, milk kind of gave me a stomach ache, but lately I've been able to drink it. The only problem is that I don't really like the taste of it that much anymore. Do you think I should start trying to drink more of it, or should I just stick to drinking soy milk? Which one is better for you?


Answers:

If you don't like regular milk, what about yogurt and cottage cheese and chocolate milk? Anyway, the main point of drinking milk is to get calcium and some protein. Next time you're at the store, check out the soy milk and see how much calcium and protein it has compared to milk. Sometimes the people who make soy milk add calcium in so there's a bunch, but sometimes I think they don't.

Some people will tell you that soy milk is better for you than cow's milk because of the antibiotics and hormones they put in cattle feed that might come through in the milk and be bad for your health. Some people will tell you that soy milk isn't as nutritious as cow's milk.
