i have destroyed my life---didnt do anyhting for the last 7 years since high school. been lazy, mentally screwed up. I cant think properly on anything. Negative thoughts pop into my head like a virus and i am going down the hill day by day. I am 24 years old now. lost my mom recently....tell me how to change my thinking towrads my life goals and future life? dont know what my interests are ....and my physical health is not up to the mark either-- feeling laziness all the time....eating a lot of junk food and gaining a lot of extra weight day by day...
i hate myself...i hate my life...i dont know where to start things...every failure added in my life's porfolio has made me a pessimistic and downcast!!!

Edit: Thanks for your quick answers. I really appreciate that. Let's see what I can figure out from your answers.
I forgot to mention something in my previous post.

- When i am about to do something positive - there is a pessimistic person inside me that stops me from changing my life. My past haunts me. Sometimes i have to shout loudly in my room in order to sop those negative thoughts bombarding my brain.(they are my worst enemies , if i am reading something my mind drifts in the middle because of those negative thoughts keep interfering ).

Today i will write down all the stuff on my notebook and see if i have ample courage to change all this doom and gloom thinking in me.

I dont know if i can bring those 7 years back and make them productive --let's see if i can get out of my bed and chnage my thinking!

Hmmmm.. Sounds like you could be suffering from situational depression that has sent you in a downward spiral.
You should seek out the advice of a therapist or physician... BUT for starters...
You should be your own biggest cheerleader. Negative self talk is only going to make your situation worse. You are competing in what is called "self fulfilling prophecies" , but you can turn this around.
Somem pessimism and irritability is normal in our lives, expecially after the loss of a loved one. However it should not overtake your life, as this seems to have.
Get thee to a doctor and take an active role in bettering your mental and emotional health !

Best of luck to you! :)
