Have you ever had an ingrown toenail surgically cut out?!
Question:
Have you ever had an ingrown toenail surgically cut out?
I am talking about when they spray that cold spray on your toe then give you a shot then cut out the ingrown toenail on one side or the other? If so, please tell me all about your experience. I need to do it and I chickened out this morning at the doctor's office and did not go through with it. I am afraid of the pain with the shot...
Answers:
I just had this done today, after 10 MONTHS of chickening out. Let me tell you, the build up is A LOT worse than the actual procedure itself. They sprayed my toe with that cold stuff, which I won't lie, it doesn't feel good at all, but it sure as heck isn't TOO bad. The shot itself isn't too bad either, but the fluid burns a little--on a pain scale of 1-10, I'd give it a 3. They had to to inject me again, because it wasn't numbed all the way...anyway...I am extremely squeemish and this wasn't a tenth as bad as i had imagined-Never felt a thing when they removed the nail. The toe is still a bit numb 8 hours later, and starting to get sore, but believe me when I tell you IT IS WORTH IT. In a couple of short weeks, I will be able to get back to my jogging routine. I am walking around fine now--even drove myself home, but it stays wrapped up for a day, so it isn't wise to go anywhere for 24 hours, but after that sandle up for a couple weeks and let it heal! Perfect time of the year to wear sandals.
