I recently had my leg amputated. I am now on pain med's. Can my employer keep me from returning to work???

I work for a hospital as a Respiratory Therapist. The hospital now wants me to meet the employee health nurse and go over my medications with them. Could they prohibit me from returning to work, even though I have a release and the prescription for narcotics is legit? These meds do not keep me from functioning. The stoned effect went away along time ago.

It will depend on your psychological welbeing which is basically what the employee health nurse will be looking at.
A lot of people really resent losing a limb or two and this reflects in their work.
