After having a blood test, how long should I cover the site for?!

Question:

After having a blood test, how long should I cover the site for?

I had a blood test about 48 hours ago, and was just wondering how long I need to leave the gauze taped over the needle mark for?
A canular was left in the site after the blood test, which was removed about 42 hours ago, if this affects anything.

Answers:

you technically never need to have it covered. normally only 10 minutes or so, or whenever it stops bleeding. and don't carry anthing heavy with that arm for a few hours.
