I am 38 weeks almost 39 and am having bad pain in my back but it comes and goes !

I am 38 weeks almost 39 and am having bad pain in my back but it comes and goes for short moments at a time?

Im 38 weeks almost 39 on Sunday. I have been dilated at 4cm since I was 36 weeks and lost my mucas plug then but the doctor said it could grow back. The past few days it appears that I have been loosing it again and I have these sharp pains across my lower back for short moments at a time could this be contractions? When I went to the doctors on Monday they said that my cervix had dropped which I guess is another step in labor and that was before I started to loose my mucas plug. Also yesterday I had soreness and leakage in my nipples which has never happened. I know my babys coming but does this stuff mean soon cause I dont want to go to the hospital and be sent home again? Also are my back pains contractions?

sounds like labor to me!! I had back pains off and on all day and it never clicked in my brain to be contractions!!
