What does it mean when you can see your pulse?!

What does it mean when you can see your pulse?
My left hand is visibly pulsing. My upper arm sustained a few injuries today . . . is this related? I'm confused because I've had heart murmurs before, and the cause was never resolved. Should I be worried?
