If your doctor has ever told you something you didn't want to hear, how did you !

Question:

If your doctor has ever told you something you didn't want to hear, how did you handle it?

Do you think it's better to move on to the other side without warning, or to be told ahead of time.........so you have time to think about it?

My maternal grandmother's death in 1985 was the resulf of a sudden heart attack, with no time to think about the transition, and I believe her passing was so much more merciful than my mother's end in a hospice in 2005, about which I still have nightmares 2 years afterwards.

Answers:

About 17 months ago the Dr. told me I had to have a 7 way bypass on my heart.
I flatly refused till my wife started crying, now I accept most any type med. problem with a open mind.
