The pain is definately not significant. I would put it at a 1 rating. It is not worse that getting a shot or having blood taken. You just have to make sure that you clean your piercings everyday and twirl the earrings around. You have to twirl them for a while after having them pierced because the hole is trying to naturally close up around the earring, and if you don't twirl then your ear will grow over your earrings. As long as you do all that, you'll be fine.
