What's used in an IV bag during a standard stomach pump?
My friend thinks IV is the actual fluid. I told her it's water. Can I get a medical opinion?
Answers:
Dextrose 5% 1/2 Normal Saline
or
Dextrose 5% 0.9 Normal Saline
or
Lactated Ringers
or
Normal Saline....Depends on what the body needs at the time
Mind you...this is going into the patient's vein at the time, and not into the stomach.
